Matthieu ANE
PIANIST - CONDUCTOR - COMPOSER
A multifaceted musician, Matthieu Ané divides his time between piano, double bass, conducting, teaching and composition.
Present at RCR since 2021 (6 editions)
Matthieu Ané is a multidisciplinary musician who is fortunate enough to combine his activities as a performer (pianist and double bassist), conductor, and, more recently, composer.
He began his piano studies at the Montpellier Conservatory (CNR), where he earned his Diploma of Musical Studies in 1998. He then studied at the Geneva Conservatory, the Berlin University of the Arts (Hochschule der Künste), and finally obtained a postgraduate diploma from the Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory (CNR) as well as a second prize at the Brest International Piano Competition.
His musical output is extensive and varied (solo repertoire, chamber music, contemporary compositions, and musical theater). He regularly accompanies double bass repertoire at festivals, notably Mardi Graves and the Rencontres de la Contrebasse en Roussillon.
It was his passion for the symphonic repertoire that led him to study the double bass (earning his DEM diploma) and, later, to conducting. Holding a DEM diploma in orchestral conducting from the class of Nicolas Brochot, he also participates in conducting masterclasses with conductors Alexandre Myrat and Bernard Haitink.
He is a co-founder of the Essarts Symphony Orchestra Workshop (near Rouen) and founder of the Inuendo Orchestra, with which he has conducted, among other works, Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's The Seven Last Words of Christ, Prokofiev's Classical Symphony, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, and other major works of the repertoire.
Holder of the Certificate of Aptitude in piano, Matthieu currently teaches chamber music and conducts various orchestras at the conservatories of Bourg-la-Reine (92) and Châtenay-Malabry (92), after having taught piano at the CRD of Cachan (94) and the CRI of Courbevoie (92). In 2020, he began composing chamber music and instrumental pieces, and has around fifty works in his catalog. In 2023, the Darmstadt Opera commissioned him to write a trio for its chamber music season. The piece, entitled Fata Morgana II, premiered in May 2024. He is currently composer-in-residence at the CMA 10 in Paris, and some of his works can be found at partitions-pour.art.
