The camp

A week of music, learning, and sharing under the southern French sun.

Two programs to suit every player

PROGRAM A

Advanced level, for advanced students and professional musicians

  • Daily 1-hour individual lessons

  • Group classes

  • Orchestral excerpts classes

  • Optional mock orchestra audition under realistic conditions

  • Rehearsals with a piano accompanist

Learn from some of today's leading double bass artists.

PROGRAM B

All levels, including beginners

  • Daily 45-minutes individual lessons

  • Group classes

  • Double bass ensembles

  • Rehearsals with a piano accompanist

Teaching provided by experienced educators, orchestral musicians, and artists from diverse musical backgrounds.

A day at RCR

MORNING

  • Optional warm-up session with Ben, certified coach

  • Individual lessons

(1 hour for Program A, 45 minutes for Program B)

AFTERNOON

  • Group classes:

  • Orchestral Excerpts (Program A)

  • Double Bass Ensembles

  • Themed Workshops

END OF DAY

  • Masterclasses

  • Conferences

  • Concerts

  • Informal discussions with the faculty

Participants are welcome to attend any class in either program as observers.

Throughout the camp, luthier Michel Gonzalez and bow maker Jérôme Chiulon will be on site to offer advice and carry out instrument maintenance, adjustments, and repairs.
